What’s in my console?

Posted in Online, Playstation 3, Playstation Network, Xbox 360, Xbox Live with tags , , , , on August 3, 2009 by Site Admin

Every week I will discuss what game is in my console, and why I am playing it!

In the 360:

The question isn’t’ what disc is in my console but rather what XBLA game is in my hard drive! This week that honor goes to Marvel vs. Capcom AND ‘Splosion Man! Yeah I know I cheated, big deal!

MvC2 is the staple of fighting games and a throwback to the better times of gaming (oh how I miss my Dreamcast!). With frantic 3 on 3 action and the greatest ensemble of characters in any fighting game to date, MvC2 has stood the test of time and will continue to amaze a new generation of fighting game fans. 2009 has really become the year of the beatdown! In case any of you nubs are wondering, I use (in order) Cable, Tron Bon, and Captain Commando! I accept all challengers!

(But will probably lose…)

Next up is ‘Splosion Man! If I could describe this game in one word, that word would be sadistic. The purpose of the game is to make yourself explode (of splode?) in creative ways to get your ass to the end of the level. It’s classic platforming at its best and I wouldn’t have it any other way. What make this game even better is the co-op action and the potential unlockables! Me and my wife have spent some serious hours getting through the first area and I must say, I am proud of my wife who sometimes ‘splodes better the me!

I vote GOTY for ‘Splosion Man! Who’s with me! (crickets and tumble weed…)

In the PS3:

Things have been slow on PS3 land as of late but the one game that still takes over my heart is Civilization Revolution! I cannot get enough of this entry level strategy game by the genius mind of Sid Meier! With a multitude of ways to finish the game and various maps and map packs, CivRev has been worth every penny.

Check back in for next week! Cause you never know what may be in my console!

The Next Game – Red Faction: Guerrilla

During the last few weeks the new Red Faction game has really shined as the next competitive title. Some feel it has gained popularity amongst the MLG crowd solely because they are tired of Halo and want something new (i.e. The Shadowrun fan base). Truthfully, that is not the case. RFG really is a game that takes aiming skill, timing, and teamwork. Oddly enough it has the whole package game play wise, but that is where the issues come in. Continue reading

Since the Uncharted 2 MP announcement, the web has gone ablaze with news regarding this surprising inclusion in the popular series. Since then various comments on other major websites have had the tone of “Uncharted should have had a more innovative MP then this!” So allow me to clarify something: Deathmatch Multiplayer is usually the only way to go!

First off I have to tip my hat off to Sony. They are a company that truly does deliver on unique IP’s that continue to push this industry forward. With that said, the recent news about Nathan Drake’s second outing in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves regarding the inclusion of Multiplayer is exciting news. Playing through the first game I couldn’t help but think about the possibilities for Multi-player, and how Naughty Dog would approach it. Now that it is a reality with Uncharted 2 we here at BulletLAG want to speculate on what exactly would be included in an Uncharted 2 with Multi-player.

Halo 3: ODST and what we know

Posted in Online, Videogames, Xbox 360 with tags , , on April 15, 2009 by Site Admin

We all know that Halo 3: ODST (or ODST for short) will be an expansion of the Halo universe. Now, for those who do not know about the actual “Halo Universe (read a book sometime!), the ODST unit or “Helljumpers” are a favorite for fans of Halo lore. While the game sticks with the core Halo mechanics you are in fact limited in your abilities due to you playing the roll of a regular human. This means less health and the Brutes are much bigger! The Conduit: Wii’s first competitive game!

Posted in Nintendo, Online, Videogames, Wii with tags , , , on April 14, 2009 by Site Admin

The Conduit looks to bring something to the table that the Wii has been lacking for quite some time now, and that is skill based shooting games! The Wii is known for it’s casual friendly games but The Conduit from Sega really looks like something special. Continue reading
